My greatest concern is the power of council officers.
These are the non elected people who run our city.
In my experience they often have their own agenda and consider the public an unfortunate nuisance.
The New Local Government Act is clear, Council should be run in an open, transparent and democratically accountable manner for the benefit of the people.

Penny Bright, Spokesperson for the Water Pressure Group, has been arrested 15 times because she keeps on calling for confidentiality to stop, and requests that the public’s right to have their say be observed. District Court judges Blackie, Singh and Mathers have all supported the public’s right to “open, transparent & democratically accountable’ local government.
